While we were living in the Panama Canal Zone Dad was collecting orchids and growing them in the yard. Just as they were ready to bloom an Iguana would come along and eat the buds. It was driving Dad crazy… so he borrowed a 22 caliber rifle with the intention of killing the thieving Iguana. The Iguana was chewing on a mango, Dad shot, knocking the mango out of the Iguana’s mouth and the Iguana scooted away to safety. Dad never did kill the thieving Iguana.
