Pigs on Poles

In the early 1970’s I spent a month in Guayama, Puerto Rico. Each Friday one would see pigs trussed up on poles to be roasted/barbequed for the weekend celebrations. I made a number of sketches of these trussed pigs and chickens that were also placed on poles. These sketches became the basis for a number of works I created using urethane foam.

Drawing of Foam Pig: The sculpture was made of Pigmented Urethane Foam, ReBar, Rope, Fittings & shadows… private collection exhibited at Madison Art Center
